Devcity Mail Business email, hosted in the Maldives

Email that carries your name, not somebody else’s.

Every quote you send from a free webmail address tells the customer where you really are. Devcity Mail puts your business on its own domain, on your phone, your laptop and the web. The servers are ours and they are here. Your mail is backed up every night, and the person who answers when you call works in your timezone.

  • Your own domain
  • Nightly backups
  • Pay by bank transfer
  • Set up for you

Why it matters

A free address is the cheapest thing on your quotation, and the most expensive.

Resorts, agencies and government offices all read the address before they read the price. hello@yourbusiness.mv says you are a company. A free webmail address says you might not be there next season.

It is not only how it looks. When staff leave, their mail leaves with them. Nothing is shared, nothing is handed over, and nobody can prove what was agreed. On your own domain the mailbox belongs to the business. You create it, you close it, and the history stays.

We move you across ourselves, keep the old mail, and tell you exactly what changes on the day it switches.

What you get

Everything a working inbox needs. Nothing you have to administer.

Every one of these is in the console the day your domain goes live. No tickets, no waiting on us.

Mailboxes on your domain

Create, rename and close mailboxes yourself from your Devcity account. Set the password, set the size, done.

Aliases, groups and catch all addresses

sales@ reaching three people, info@ landing in one inbox, and a catch all for the address on last year’s signboard.

Rules and away messages

Sort mail into folders as it arrives, and set an away message that knows the dates you gave it.

Webmail that looks like you

A browser inbox on our own address, branded Devcity Mail. Not a panel screen with somebody else’s logo on it.

Your phone and your laptop

Standard IMAP and SMTP, so Outlook, Apple Mail, Gmail on Android and the Devcity Mail app all just work.

Spam and virus filtering

Filtered on the way in, and signed with SPF, DKIM and DMARC on the way out so your mail is not the thing that gets junked.

Backed up every night

Every mailbox archived overnight, and every archive opened and counted the next morning. A backup nobody has restored is not a backup.

A person, not a form

Set up by hand, moved across by hand, and supported by someone in your timezone who will pick up the phone.

Wherever you work

Open it in a browser, or set it up once on your phone.

Webmail is at https://mail.devcitymv.com and needs nothing installed. For your phone or Outlook, these are the only settings anyone ever asks for, and we set them up with you the first time.

Sign in to your mailbox

Fair use, so one compromised password cannot get the whole server blocklisted: 20 messages an hour and 75 a day per mailbox, 10 recipients per message, 50 MB attachments. Devcity Mail is for correspondence. It is not a bulk sender.

Someone reading their work email on a phone, with a new message notification arriving
Nightly mailbox archives, each one verified, and a restore landing in its own folder

If it goes wrong

Deleted the wrong folder? We have last night.

Every paid mailbox is archived overnight and the archives are kept for the number of nights your plan sells. Ask for a restore and the mail comes back into a dated folder beside your live inbox. It never lands on top of it, so nothing you still have can be lost getting something back.

And every morning a check opens the newest archive of every mailbox and counts the messages in it. That is a deliberate habit here. An empty archive is still a valid file, it passes every test, and it restores nothing. So we look inside rather than trusting the green tick.

How ordering works

STEP 1

Pick a plan

Choose a plan and tell us your domain and how many mailboxes. Nothing is charged yet.

STEP 2

Pay by transfer

Send the payment to our account and upload the slip. No card needed.

STEP 3

We check it

A person checks the payment against our bank and confirms by email, usually the same working day.

STEP 4

Point your domain

We give you the exact DNS records and a panel that checks each one until all of them are green.

STEP 5

You are live

We create the first mailboxes with you, set up your phone, and move your old mail across.

Questions

The things people actually ask.

If yours is not here, ask us. You will get an answer from someone who works on the servers, not a copied paragraph.

Ask us a question
Do I need to buy my domain from you?
No. Devcity Mail works with a domain registered anywhere. We will give you the records to add at your current registrar and check them for you. If you would rather we held the domain too, we can transfer it in.
Will my email go down while we switch?
No. We set the new mailboxes up alongside your old ones and only change the delivery records once you have signed in and sent a test message. Mail already in flight keeps arriving during the changeover.
Can you move my old mail across?
Yes, if your current provider still lets us read it. We copy folder for folder, so read state, dates and attachments all stay intact, and nothing is deleted from the old side.
What happens if I run out of space?
You will see the mailbox filling up in the console before it becomes a problem, and you can either clear space or move that mailbox to a larger plan. Nothing is deleted and nothing bounces without warning first.
Can I add mailboxes later?
Yes, any time. Extra mailboxes are charged only for the months left on your term, so one bought in month ten costs two months, not twelve.
Is my mail stored in the Maldives?
Yes. Devcity Mail runs on our own server here, not resold from somewhere else, which is also why support can look at a real log when something is odd rather than raising a ticket with a third party.
What happens if I stop paying?
We chase the renewal before and after it lapses, and we talk to you. We do not silently delete a mailbox, and mail is never thrown away to force a payment.

Put your business on its own address.

Order online and we will do the rest. The records, the mailboxes, your phone, and your old mail. Most domains are live the same working day the payment clears.
